The Café

Located at the base of the dark mountain it's named for, the Black Dinah Café serves coffee, tea, pastries and chocolates to travelers and locals from June through September.  It's an adventure to find us—one that will take you by boat, country road and woodsy trail—but once you're here, you can relax with a cup of locally-roasted organic coffee and listen to the rhythms of the island waft around you.

Kate makes all the eats from scratch using fresh, local cream and butter, local organic eggs, wild Maine berries, organic flours and grains, and anything that the neighbors may grow. If you're here for a day a week a month or the summer, come in for a visit.  We can't wait to meet you.

The cafe is closed for the season.

...but if you happen to find yourself on the island in need of some fresh truffles, feel free to knock on our door. If you're not sure where to find us, give us a call from the pay phone outside the Island Store--it's free.
